KS School Efficiencies Task Force

TOPEKA - A new Kansas task force charged with finding ways for schools to put more of their state funding directly into classrooms has started working.

Kansas Policy Institute president Dave Trabert began Monday's meeting by reviewing school spending data that districts provide to the Kansas Department of Education.

Trabert says the task force created by Gov. Sam Brownback should identify barriers that keep districts from spending money more efficiently. The next step is to remove those barriers.

State Board of Education member Ken Willard heads the task force. Among the other members are certified public accountants and former local school board members.

Democrats have criticized the absence of teachers and school administrators on the task force.

No school administrator on Task Force
Maybe a teacher should have been on the Task Force but not an administrator or a teacher with administrator aspirations. I have never heard of an administrator who did not think any solution to education was spending MORE money. There is no more money. Cut some admin and send their salaries to the schools.
