Southwest Wichita Home Destroyed by Fire

WICHITA, Kan. - A vacant southwest Wichita home was destroyed in an early morning fire.  It happened around 12:15 a.m. Sunday in the 1800 block of S. Euclid.
Upon arrival, firefighters found the home engulfed in flames. They battled the fire defensively until it was brought under control, said Fire Battalion Chief Kevin Royse.
"We had extremely heavy fire load coming out of every window from all 4 sides," Royse said.
A power line was down at the home, which was secured. And at one point the roof collapsed.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
