WASHINGTON, DC - Former Kansas Senator Bob Dole met with numerous Kansas veterans in the nation’s capital on Thursday. Dole met with veterans who were visiting the World War II memorial in Washington D.C. as part of the Kansas Honor Flight program. Twenty-nine veterans took part in the trip, the oldest being 101-year-old Sam Maier of Great Bend.
Those veterans and other attendees are flying back to Wichita Friday morning.
