New Charge Filed in Death of Tabor College Football Player
MCPHERSON, Kan. - Charges have been amended in the death of Brandon Brown, 26, a football player at Tabor College. McPherson County Attorney David Page on Monday, amended charges against Alton Franklin, 19, from aggravated battery to aiding and abetting second-degree murder. Franklin made a first appearance in court on that charge Monday morning.
Brown died Saturday night from injuries he sustained in a beating last weekend in McPherson. Franklin, of Dallas, Texas, was arrested earlier that same day. Brown, from Southern California, had moved to Hillsboro only six weeks earlier.
A public memorial service is being put together by the Tabor college student body to be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Hillsboro MB Church, 300 Prairie Pointe in Hillsboro.
