1 Dead 1 Injured in Barton County Traffic Accident

     WICHITA - One man has died and another man is hospitalized after crash in Barton County. Kansas Highway Patrol officials say it happened just before 8:30 a.m. Sunday at junction of U.S. 281 and Kansas Highway 4 just west of Hoisington. Investigators say 42-year-old Richard Newick of Great Bend was driving his car southbound when he ran a stop sign and crashed into another car. Both vehicles went into a ditch. Newick's car then struck a telephone pole and rolled onto its side. Newick was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died. The driver of the other car was taken to a Wichita hospital were he is listed in serious condition.
