Fire Crews Contain Fire in Delano
WICHTIA, Kan. - Wichita fire crews quickly contained a fire that began in an apartment above a Delano area business. It happened around 2:15 p.m. Friday afternoon.
Dan McClure, the owner of Bullwinkle Tattoo on the corner of Douglas and Walnut say he had just gone upstairs to fix his lunch, a short time before the fire began. "About fifteen minutes after that, I heard a kinda loud explosion, and I went outside to see what it was, and I saw
smoke billowing out of the north west corner of the upstairs window," said McClure.
The fire was brought under control by 2:30 p.m., but clean up on the street blocked traffic for several hours. There were no injuries. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
