ROSE HILL, Kan.  -  A grass fire west of Rose Hill was threatening nearby homes Thursday afternoon.  It began around 4:00 p.m., when units were dispatched to the area of South 127th Street East and 71st Street South.  Traffic was blocked off near 127th and Dove Hill St. while crews worked the fire. The spreading fire put homes in the area in danger.
     One Rose Hill firefighter suffered heat exhaustion and was checked out by EMS, but was not hospitalized.  The fire was reportedly brought under control at around 5:00 p.m.
