WICHITA, Kan. - The Kansas Highway Patrol called off a high-speed chase involving a motorcycle. Officials said the incident began as a routine traffic stop at around 8:40 p.m. Wednesday at K-96 and Woodlawn. The cyclist refused to stop for unknown reasons and began leading troopers on a chase.
On westbound U.S. Highway 254, between Webb and Oliver, the motorcycle screamed ahead at speeds up to 130 miles-per-hour. Troopers called off the chase near 45th Street North and Hillside just after 8:50 p.m. as it neared an area of higher traffic.
