CHENEY, Kan. - A man was taken to a Wichita hospital after a fiery crash near Cheney Lake.
     Just after 1:30 a.m. Sunday, Reno County authorities responded to an accident near an entrance to Cheney Lake. A vehicle was found on fire at Maple Grove Road and Titan Road.
Reno County Sheriff's Deputy David Post says the vehicle failed to make a curve while traveling west on Maple Grove Road and went into a ditch, striking a tar pile. The vehicle caught fire after the tar pile sent it airborne over two trees.
      A witness saw the fire and stopped to pull the male driver out of the vehicle. Post says the vehicle was destroyed.
      EMS transported the driver to St. Francis in Wichita. His condition is unknown.
      Post says alcohol may have been involved. The accident is under investigation.
