One dead after traffic accident at Milford Lake

WAKEFIELD, Kan. (KNSS) – A man is dead after a traffic accident in Clay County.  It happened around 3 a.m. Sunday on K-82, east of Wakefield.  

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol an eastbound car drove off the north edge of the causeway over Milford Lake and rolled down the embankment.

The driver of the car, 29-year-old James Jenkins, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.  According to the KHP Jenkins was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
