The amazing thing to me about health and medical insurance is that it doesn’t deliver 100% on anything. By the time you get through with deductibles and co-pays, you may get 80% of your bill paid. Americans with even good health insurance are still vulnerable for thousands of dollars of out-of-pocket expenses if some one is unfortunate enough to be sick or injured.
A recent Gallup poll indicates that 30% of those surveyed are dissatisfied with the health insurance benefits their employer offers. That compares with 19% just three years ago. 26% are dissatisfied with their chances for promotion … 34% dissatisfied with on-the-job stress … 30% dissatisfied with their pay … and 28% dissatisfied with the company retirement plan. Those numbers are all up over three years ago.
Dissatisfaction is much lower for co-workers, the physical safety of the workplace, and immediate supervisors.
I hope you find more reason for satisfaction than dissatisfaction in your job.
Our thought for today is from Ronald Reagan:
“They say hard work never hurt anybody, but I figure why take the chance.”
