A 25-year-old Wichita woman says she was raped inside her home late Thursday night by her 30-year-old ex-boyfriend. 

Police Lt. Sam Hanley says the man came to retrieve some belongings. The woman says he then assaulted her, and sexually assaulted her. She was able to get away, grabbed a knife, then stabbed him at least once in the abdomen, and once in the back; he was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but has since been upgraded.

Upon his exit from hospitalization, police intend to charge him with rape, aggravated battery, and unlawful restraint.

The incident occurred near Pawnee & George Washington Blvd., in the 2300 block of S. Crestway.
