A Wichita woman died in Butler County when her car got smashed beneath a truck-tractor semi-trailer. 

It happened at about 8:30 Tuesday morning three miles west of Augusta, when a dump truck hauling rock north-bound on Santa Fe Lake Road had trouble with its brakes, and the driver, 36-year-old Laura Alexander of Conway Springs, was unable to stop at the red light. 

50-year-old Gail Graham was east-bound on U.S. Highway 54; she died at the scene when the driver's side of her car was flattened under the trailer.
