Two Wichita Robberies Connected

Police believe a 38-year-old man robbed two Wichita stores on Friday; that man has now been arrested.

The first robbery was at the X-Citement Video store at Harry & Southeast Boulevard, at about 1:15 a.m. Friday. The clerk at the store says the man walked into the store, pointed a black handgun at him, and demanded money. After getting some cash, the bandit left; police say he had a 47-year-old getaway driver, and that man has also been arrested.

Then at about 4:00 a.m. Friday, the Quik Trip at Pawnee & Hillside was robbed. The clerk reported that the robber left a "suspicious device" on the counter. The police bomb squad came to the scene and secured the area; it turned out to be a battery pack for an old computer, and was not dangerous.

Police believe that the Quik Trip robbery was a one-man job.
