What does Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions mean when he says President Obama should take responsibility for the Secret Service, G-S-A, and energy company Solyndra scandals … and insist on a government culture in which taxpayer dollars are not wasted? The Republican Senator says “I don’t sense that this president has shown that kind of managerial leadership”.
The Secret Service is investigating the scandal in Columbia and several employees have already lost their jobs. President Obama has pushed for a thorough investigation of the incident.
If investigations reveal misbehavior by federal government employees, I’m reasonably sure the President will take appropriate action. What else can Obama do? Resign?
To believe any president can “manage” the federal government is nonsense. Taking “responsibility” for every federal employee is obviously impossible.
I can only conclude that Senator Session’s remarks were meant to hook up the name “Obama” with the word “scandal” … with no suggestions about what the President ought to do.
This is an election year, you know.
Our thought for today is from Will Rogers:
“The more you read and observe about this politics thing, you got to admit that each party is worse than the other. The one that’s out always looks the best.”
