It's been a smoky Monday afternoon in south-central Kansas. A large 1,100-acre pasture fire near Augusta has produced plenty of smoke, and the gusty wind out of the east-northeast has blown much of the smoke over much of Sedgwick County; this fire in Butler County is a controlled burn. 

Most of Wichita has a haze, a smoky smell in the air, and pockets of strong smoke odors.
