WICHITA - Sedgwick County commissioners are looking at the population of the jail and ways to reduce and control it, so they aren't faced with having to build a new jail someday.
     One approach discussed at this week's commission meeting was creating pod providing services to prisoners with mental health issues. Commission chairman Tim Norton was supportive of that idea.
     Commissioners want to talk about a mental health approach with the newly-elected Sedgwick County Sheriff after November's election; the Sheriff is in charge of the jail.
