WICHITA, Kan. - A 23-Year-Od man has been booked on charges of involuntary manslaughter in connection a traffic accident, Friday night in Wichita.
Wichita Police Lt Joe Schroeder says around 10:40 pm witnesses reported the driver of a 2005 Black, 2-door, Scion was traveling east on Kellogg at high speeds, cutting recklessley in and out of traffic.
Lt. Schroeder says as the Scion approached the 5-hundred block of west Kellogg the driver tried to merge into the center lane at the same time as another vehichle, he over-corrected and the Scion struck the barrier wall and the car flipped and rolled. A passenger, 27-year old Jarrod Moffet, from the Wichita area, was ejected from the car and pinned underneath. He was pronounced dead on the scene. After being treated for injuries, the driver, a 23 year old Wichita man, was booked on charges of involuntary manslaughter.
The investigation is continuing and police are asking any additional witnesses to events leading up to and including the accident to call 268-4131 or 268-4132.
