Personal Property Notices Mailed Out

The Sedgwick County Appraiser’s Office mailed approximately 31,000 Individual and Business Personal Property Value Notices on Wednesday, April 30.

Individual personal property includes boats, personal watercrafts, trailers, manufactured homes and off-road motor vehicles. For businesses, personal property includes all furniture, machinery and equipment owned by the business.

Property owners will find a summary of both 2008 and 2007 values, a description of property classifications and their respective assessment rates, and the appeal form printed with filing instructions on the backside of their notice.

If a value includes a penalty, the county may not have received the filing. In such situations, filing a personal property rendition may reduce penalties.

Property owners with questions may contact the Appraiser’s Office – Information & Assistance Division at 660-9110, 525 N Main, Rm. 227.
