Officer-Involved Fatal Shooting in Haysville

HAYSVILLE, Kan. - A man is dead following following an officer-involved shooting in Haysville; it happened at about 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at an apartment complex in the 400 block of W. Sarah Lane.

Haysville Police Chief Jeffrey Whitfield said officers were called to a domestic disturbance; police found an active disturbance between a man and a woman. Whitfield said the woman was injured.

Chief Whitfield said the situation then resulted in an officer-involved shooting inside the apartment.

KAKE News reports the alleged suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. The injured woman was transported to a hospital.

The Sedgwick County Sheriff and District Attorney, along with the Kansas Bureau of Investigation are looking into the shooting.

When I heard the location of where the shooting has occurred it scared me badly because my friend lives there, but it is sad that someone died and another was injured. I want to get whoever has killed and injured the two people. This is horrifying!
