WICHITA, Kan. - Results show that Marc Bennett is the Republican nominee for District Attorney in the 18th District. "We ran a campaign we are proud of," Bennett told his supporters.
After a long night, former deputy District Attorney Kevin O'Connor conceded the race to his opponent. "This warms my heart," O'Connor said. "We are not defeated. My family has overcome cancer and we will overcome this." The final unofficial tally gave Marc Bennett 55% of the vote to O'Connor's 45%.
There are no democratic candidates for District Attorney, so the winner of the GOP primary will likely replace Nola Foulston. Foulston has served as District Attorney since 1988.
