Kansas Votes on Capitol Hill
|
Kansas senator Sam Brownback says he questions the Air Force's evaluation of the costs of the Airbus 330 and the Boeing 767. The Republican spoke at a senate subcommittee hearing into the Air Force's award of a contract for aerial refueling tankers to a group that includes the European firm.
In other congressional news, Republican Kansas congressmen Todd Tiahrt and Jerry Moran voted against a measure providing $300 billion in refinanced mortgages. Kansas Democrats Nancy Boyda and Dennis Moore voted for the bill, which passed on a 266-154 roll call. President Bush has promised to veto the measure. |
