The arrival of Tuesday, July 1, 2008, means hundreds of new laws take effect in Kansas.
Among them: stiffer punishment for stalkers and a new definition of the crime, a new cyberbullying law, and new disclosure rules for political candidate funding.
Drivers at fault for serious injury wrecks are subject to drug testing, and a second conviction for possession of Ecstasy automatically becomes a felony.
Also starting 7/1, several Kansas highways are named to honor veterans of foreign wars; and, the cost of a marriage license goes up by $9.
