Jim Schaus Departs as WSU A.D.

Wichita State is now looking for a new Athletic Director.

After nine years at Wichita State, Jim Schaus on Monday afternoon was named the Athletic Director at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio.

Schaus spearheaded the multi-million-dollar renovation of WSU's basketball arena, and in each of the last four seasons, Wichita State has won the All-Sports Trophy in the Missouri Valley, indicative of the best overall athletic program in the conference.

Schaus leaves Wichita for Athens, a much smaller town, although he goes to a bigger school: Ohio U.'s enrollment is 17% larger than Wichita State's; and Schaus will also get to oversee five sports at Ohio University that Wichita State doesn't have: women's swimming & diving, women's soccer, field hockey, wrestling, and football.
