WICHITA, Kan.  -  Drivers can expect long delays starting this weekend as construction begins on a busy Wichita highway.  Officials with the Kansas Department of Transportation say workers will be making repairs to the bridge on Interstate 235 between Meridian and Broadway in north Wichita.  The highway will be reduced to single lane to cross the bridge starting Sunday evening at 9 p.m. The project is expected to be completed in mid-September.
     Monday morning drivers will likely encounter heavy congestion.  Commuters may want to find alternate routes during the 45-day project.  Wide loads will be restricted by the 12-foot lane width.
     Work on the bridge includes repairing joints, patching the bridge deck and overlaying a new deck surface.
