HUTCHINSON, Kan. - A Reno County jury has found a man guilty in the mistaken identity murder of a Hutchinson mother. The jury found Charles Logsdon guilty after two and a half days of deliberation.
Logsdon was charged in the June , 2011 shooting death of Jennifer Heckel. Police said Logsdon and another man went to the wrong house while trying to collect on a drug debt.Heckel's family members cried as the verdict was read. Logsdon stood up, faced Heckel's family and said, "I didn't do this (s%#), you just ruined my life". He made more explicit comments before being escorted from the courtroom.
Logsdon will be sentenced December 21st. Another defendant, Billy Joe Craig, is awaiting trial.
