WICHITA, Kan. - Police are investigating a shooting in south Wichita that sent one man to the hospital.
9-1-1 dispatchers received the report of shots fired around 11 p.m. Wednesday, in the 1600 block of West Tulsa,. Shortly after that came the report of a shooting victim arriving at Via Christi-St. Joseph hospital .
Police Lt. Doug Nolte says an investigation revealed the 22-year old victim was a gang member and police believe there was some sort of disturbance in the 1600 block of West Tulsa when someone apparently pulled a gun and began shooting.
Lt. Nolte says what is not known is who, besides the victim, was involved.
The victim was shot once in the side and once in the leg.
Police are asking anyone with information to call 9-1-1 or CrimeStoppers at 267-21-11
