ANDOVER, Kan. - There are many unanswered questions about why a group of federal agents swarmed an Andover neighborhood Wednesday morning. ATF and DEA agents along with Butler County Sheriff's deputies and Andover police officers swarmed the 2000 block of Colt Court.
Our news partners at KAKE-TV report that a Butler County Sheriff's tactical team made entry into a home there sometime Wednesday morning. A neighbor who attempted to leave for work around 9:00 a.m. was told by officials to immediately go back inside.
Representatives from the DEA and ATF tell us the operation was part of an ongoing joint federal investigation. They say only the U.S. attorney's office can give details on what they were investigating or the case in general.
A representative with the U.S. Attorney's office said they can't release any details about the investigation yet, only that no criminal charges have been filed.
