Wichita police have released the identity of a toddler who died, and may be the victim of child abuse.
Police Capt. Randy Landen says two-year-old Daytona Robertson was taken to Wesley Medical Center a week ago, and doctors discovered she had suffered blunt-force head trauma.
The case had been reported by the girl's 27-year-old stepmother, who says the toddler began having seizures, which brought on the emergency call.
The little girl died from her head injuries five days later. The stepmother was arrested for aggravated battery, and police are meeting with the District Attorney's office to discuss the charges. Autopsy results are pending.
