Crime Stoppers Tip Nets Arrests, Meth

WICHITA, Kan.  -  A tip to Crime Stoppers of Wichita/Sedgwick County has led to the seizure of three pounds of methamphetamine and the arrest of two Wichita men.

On Wednesday, April 23, 2014 Crime Stoppers received a phone tip about suspicious activity at a mobile home in the 3200 block of South Clifton.  The caller reported seeing heavy stranger traffic around the location with many people entering and leaving at all hours of the day and night and suspected drugs were being sold from the residence.

Wichita Police officers and detectives began an investigation that led to arrest of two men on drug trafficking charges.  At the time of their arrest, officers confiscated three pounds of methamphetamine with a street value of approximately $36,000.

“This case represents another success for Crime Stoppers,” said Wichita Crime Commission executive director Gordon Bassham.  “It’s neighbors getting involved like this that go a long way toward making Wichita a safer and more secure community.”
