Cessna will build Citation Columbus Jet in Wichita

Cessna Aircraft announced Saturday that it will build its new assembly plant for the Citation Columbus in Wichita.
The announcement came less than 24 hours after the Legislature gave final approval to a bill that would provide Cessna access to up to $33 million in bonds as part of an incentives package from Wichita, Sedgwick County and state governments.
Cessna made its request for the $33 million in funding on Monday and both the Senate and House passed the measure this week. It awaits approval from Gov. Kathleen Sebelius, who is expected to sign the bill.
The new plant would create more than 1,000 jobs, and have an annual average payroll of $74 million.
