During the past two months, there has been a 16% spike in burglaries and thefts, mostly in the southern and western parts of Wichita and Sedgwick County. The sheriff's office has identified multiple burglary suspects, and five people have been arrrested.
The investigation has led to the discovery of stolen property at several locations, as four search warrants were issued. The sheriff's office figures to clear more than five dozen residential burglary cases in this investigation.
