Wichita, Kan. - Police are investigating a shooting that sent a man in his forties to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the chest. It happened shortly after 7:00 p.m. Wednesday night near 13th & Oliver. Police say the victim drove to the Quik Trip at 13th and Oliver and contacted an off-duty police officer for help.
The man was transported to Wesley Medical Center in critical condition. Police Sgt. Don Story says they are still trying to determine where the shooting took place, but it may have happened in the
1700 block of Northeast Parkway where there was the reports of shots fired in the area.
