DERBY, Kan. - Derby Police are asking help finding a teenage girl who has not been seen since Thursday.
Chief of Police Robert Lee said Saturday he has no reason to suspect the disappearance of 14-year-old Taysia Moren-Rhoades was anything but voluntary.
"But at the same time, she is 14 years of age, so we'd like to find her and get her back to home," Lee said.
He said neither the girl's family nor her friends have heard from her since Thursday, when she was last seen after school. Lee asked anybody with information about Taysia to call the Derby Police Department at 788-1557.
"We want to, number one, check and make sure that she's okay and return her to her family," Lee said. "There's just a lot of things that can go wrong when a young child is out on their own and has left home."
"It's a load off our our mind and her parents' mind to know where she's at," he said.
