A Kansas bondswoman has pleaded guilty to bribing a Wichita city court employee as part of a scheme to alter bond records to defraud the city and bonding companies.
Alicia Bell entered the plea Thursday as part of an agreement with federal prosecutors, who dismissed two counts of conspiracy and impairing computer data; her sentencing was set for May 13.
The plea deal says that the scheme cost the city and bonding companies at least $185,000.
An indictment unsealed last May alleges that court employee Kaylene Pottorff took bribes to change city court records for Bell and another bondsman agent, Jessie Garland; their trial is set for May 11.
